According to Linda, all 9 months, she “just nursed her grandson.”
The American woman of Madavoska, Maine delivered a son, becoming a surrogate mother for her daughter.
August 17, Linda Sirois, 49 years old, gave birth to son, for her 25-year-old daughter Angel Hebert and her husband, Brian Hebert. The child was born on the program of full surrogacy, when the surrogate mother carries embryo of biological parents. Angel Hebert, for who this was the first child, could not have children because of heart problems.

A year ago, when the family decided on surrogacy, Linda Sirois phoned several clinics, but she was denied due to age. Reproductive Center of Lexington (MA) agreed to help her. Tests confirmed that the state of health allows her to have a child, and in December 2011 inseminated daughter’s oocytes were transferred into her womb.

Besides Angel, Linda has three children. The last time she was pregnant 20 years ago. According to Linda, all 9 months, she “just nursed her grandson.”

First surrogacy was used in 1980 in Illinois. Then surrogate mother’s oocytes were inseminated by biological husband’s sperm. In 1986, in Michigan a girl was born as a result of the program of full surrogacy: embryo produced “in vitro” was transferred to a surrogate mother. Finally, a year later in South Africa was the first case of a mother carrying a child for infertile daughter.

Surrogate motherhood is allowed in most states of the USA, South Africa, Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. In France, Germany, Austria, Norway and Sweden, it is prohibited completely, and in the UK, Denmark, Canada and some other countries, only non-commercial surrogacy is allowed.
