For new dads Kevin O’Neill and Eric Portenga, it was a real surprise that the embryo planted by their surrogate mother split into three parts and they learned that they will have triplets. A donor egg was used to create an embryo. The surrogate mother felt called to help with this unexpected pregnancy. Fortunately, the pregnancy and birth went well and the dads were overjoyed to welcome three twin daughters. Now, having recovered a little and getting used to the large addition to the family, they are all waiting for the first joint celebration of Christmas and expect Santa’s gifts.
