Patrick and Jon Coyle went through the entire process of IVF and surrogacy to become parents. At the beginning, the issue for gay couples regarding the donor egg was relevant. The Derry couple first turned to Kyiv, Ukraine to receive an egg cell, but due to Covid-19, they had to stop solving this issue in Ukraine. An advertisement in a local newspaper helped and an egg donor was found. Patrick’s sister agreed to become a surrogate mother. The couple felt understanding and willing to help them at all stages of pregnancy. In the end, the couple became the parents of such a desirable child named Wren and wish everyone not to be afraid to follow their dreams.
