The way to protect oocyte in the time of chemotherapy was succeed be scientists from Israel. Doctors from Sheba Medical Center identified molecular mechanism which causes irreversible changes in oocytes under the impact of chemotherapeutical drugs. It was found that specific molecule AS101 which don’t allow to this molecule mechanism being activated. Thereby AS101 prevents the development of irreversible changes in oocyte, their damage and approaching of infertility.
During the clinical trials drug produced on the base of AS101 was assign to women who were taking chemotherapy. Trials were carried out by Professor Dror Meir from Sheba Medical Center and Professor Benyamin Sherdeny from Bar Ilan University. Trials saw a high effectively rate of the drug and results of these trials were published in Science Translational Medicine.
Assume that after success of clinical trials of drug with AS 101 will be actively using in medical practice.
