The Rajya Sabha has passed a bill to regulate assisted reproductive technology (ART) services, sperm or egg banks and end sex-selection practices. Also, this bill prohibits access to these services for single men and members of the LGBT community. This bill provides that commercial surrogacy will be banned and illegal in India, including the buying and selling of embryos and gametes. In connection with the adoption of this controversial law, Dr Shivani Sachdev Gour said that he does not know how the clinics will work in the future.
