Four seats will be reserved to report with recommendations to the Special Joint Committee on International Surrogacy. After that, the bill on assisted reproduction will go through the legislative process and the recommendations of the committee will be considered by the Minister of Health. At the same time, supporters of surrogacy are concerned that the new draft law on assisted reproduction will exclude international surrogacy, leaving families and children without legal protection. So protesting families are demanding that children born through international surrogacy receive the same conditions as all children in Ireland and have legal relationships with both parents. And that it is generally unacceptable that there is still no legislation on this matter, and it is necessary to create an ethical framework so that everyone is protected.
