There are many cases when surrogate motherhood becomes the only way to increase the family. This is a procedure in which a surrogate mother carries and gives birth to a child for the intended parents. Today, there are two types of surrogate motherhood in the world, gestational and traditional. With the traditional method, the egg of the surrogate mother is used, and therefore the child has a genetic connection with her. Because of this, gestational surrogacy is the most common. It uses eggs and sperm of intended parents or donors, fertilization takes place in laboratory conditions and is called in vitro fertilization (IVF). This is how an embryo is created, which is later transferred to the uterus of the gestational carrier. Therefore, the child has no biological connection with the surrogate mother. It is also important that at the beginning of the procedure, legal agreements are signed in which all expectations are spelled out, so the intended parents are considered the only legal parents of the born child. Therefore, those who are unable to carry and give birth to a child on their own choose surrogate motherhood in order to feel the boundless joy of parenthood and increase their families.
