Register of reproductive activity will appear in Georgia

Starting from January 2024, Georgia will have a single national register for reproductive activities.

This decision was made during a government meeting led by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.

All institutions offering reproductive technologies must now report their activities to this register.

The government discussed and approved the new bill during the meeting.

The main aim is for the government to have information on the use of cells, embryos, and other materials.

Currently, there are 19 institutions providing these services in Georgia.

The Georgian government stated that this new register aligns with the requirements of the association agreement with the European Union.
