More often, among surgeons creating a family, these methods are used by female surgeons and surgeons in same-sex relationships.

After the survey, it became clear that due to surgical practice, female surgeons gave birth later, had fewer children and used ART more often compared to male surgeons.

Also, 45 percent of same-sex couples used surrogacy or adoption.

At the same time, they spent more than $40,000 and took minimal paid vacation.

Therefore, it is necessary to implement the policy and practice of normalizing childbirth as part of the surgical career, including financial support and fair parental leave.
